Back-to-school business begins next week

District to help students register, prepare for fall classes
Aug 16, 2017

School is just around the corner. Classes in the Mukilteo School District are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Students who are new to the Mukilteo School District must register at the school that serves their residence. If you are uncertain which school your child should attend, please check the attendance boundaries on the school district’s website, www.mukilteo.wednet.edu, or call the district at 425-356-1274.

If a student attended a Mukilteo school last year, has moved out of that school’s attendance area or out of the district, but wants to continue attending that school, his or her parents must complete an in-district transfer request or an out-of-district request in order to be considered as a continuing student at their school of choice.

Elementary registration

Elementary students are always anxious to see who their teacher will be for the coming year. The schools will mail that information to parents the week before school starts.

School supply lists are the same for each elementary school. The list can be found on the school district’s website.

New students entering kindergarten through 5th grade can register at the school they will be attending in their neighborhood. To register their child for school, parents or guardians should bring verification of their child’s birth date, proof of residence (such as a utility bill or lease agreement), the names and telephone numbers of emergency contacts and an up-to-date immunization record. The state’s current immunization requirements can be found through a link on the school district’s website.

Most Mukilteo elementary schools will be open for registration beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 22. The offices at all schools will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
