Jul 25, 2018

For the last seven years, Julie Martin has been an integral part of the Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce. Martin started as the Marketing Director and was promoted to President & CEO in 2014. She has become the face of the Mukilteo Chamber to its membership and the Mukilteo Community.

As the President and CEO of the Chamber, Martin has been a business and community champion. She organized and implemented many events, ran the Visitor Information Center and provided opportunities for local business leaders and owners to connect with each other, the community and city leadership.

“I am proud of the Chamber’s growth and the relationship that has developed between our Chamber and City leadership,” Martin said. “I will miss working with the Mayor and City Council on business related issues, serving on the Land Use and Economic Development Committee, and creating connections within the community”

Martin says she is proud of the educational opportunities she has brought to chamber members. The Chamber now offers Lunch & Learns with topics from accounting to social media, Google and SEO classes as well as many other topics.

Martin has expanded the tourism role of the Chamber, working on the DISCOVER MUKILTEO campaign to promote the City of Mukilteo, the many natural, historic and aviation related sights. She has been active on the board of the Lighthouse Festival Association, serving as this year’s president.

“Julie has been a great asset and friend to the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival,” Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival Executive Director Marilyn Langdon said. “Her wisdom, knowledge and hands on experience with all the details that make the Festival successful will be sorely missed.”

Under Martin’s leadership the chamber membership has grown by a net of 15 percent and new events, such as the Amazing Race Mukilteo were added and continue to grow year after year. The events hosted by the Chamber promote local business and engage the community.

“We are sad to see Julie go. Julie’s thoughtful and professional direction has helped the Chamber thrive during the past seven years,” Chairman of the Board Janet Hammerman said. “I wish Julie the very best and look forward to seeing what her next chapter is.”

Martin says it was a hard decision to leave the Mukilteo Chamber, and its members, but has decided she is ready for a new challenge.

“I appreciate the relationships I have gained in this position, and support from the Chamber Board of Directors, team chamber, the members and the community at large. I will truly miss our members and many of the daily connections.”
