City seeks student for Rosehill board; apply by Friday

Jul 12, 2017

The city of Mukilteo is looking for a student to serve a one-year term on the Rosehill Community Board, and the deadline is Friday.

Avery Hammerman has been serving in that capacity for the past year, and his term ends Aug. 15.

Applicants must be residents of the Mukilteo School District, not necessarily a resident of Mukilteo. Resolution 2015-06, which granted the City Council the authority to create the Rosehill Community Board, does not specify an age for the student member.

To apply, visit the city’s website, mukilteowa.gov. The application deadline is 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 14. Appointment by the City Council is tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7.

The Rosehill Community Board consists of seven members who are appointed by the mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council. The Rosehill Community Board was created for the purpose of providing input regarding policies and operations at the Rosehill Community Center and making recommendations to the mayor, City Council and city staff.

The board generally meets quarterly, typically the second Tuesday of the month at Rosehill Community Center. No member will be appointed to more than two full, consecutive terms. The student position is limited to a one-year term.
