County seeks applications for small capital projects

Aug 18, 2014

The Snohomish County Council is accepting applications under the Small Capital Projects Partnership grant program until Oct. 10, 2014.  A total of $50,000 is available for projects countywide.

Public and non-profit agencies interested in funding small capital projects may be eligible.

The SCPP program, funded through the Real Estate Excise Tax fund, involves partnerships of non-profit organizations with public entities in Snohomish County.

Qualified projects must be submitted jointly by both the applicant group and a public entity. All project proposals will be evaluated against the same criteria.

“These grants provide great opportunities for the county to meet the needs of our local communities” Council Chair Dave Somers said.

In 2013, projects that received these grants included funding for an elementary school playground and a dog park.

“I’m excited we have an opportunity to partner with local groups for the betterment of our communities,” District 4 Councilman Terry Ryan said.

SCPP grants are issued on a reimbursement basis only. All work on the successful projects must be completed before the grant funding will be issued.

Requests for technical assistance regarding application development and general questions about the program may be directed to Sharie Freemantle, Office of the Snohomish County Council, at 425-388-3559 or at
