Energizing future engineers

Elementary-age children on a holiday break from school flocked to the Mukilteo Library on Dec. 22 to design, construct and test model roller coasters.

The hands-on lesson, led by the Imagine Children’s Museum, encouraged the junior engineers to work together and fail often in order to create roller coasters with Styrofoam and tape and learn about potential and kinetic energy.
