Kamiak advances as No. 2 seed | Volleyball

The Kamiak volleyball team, closed out the regular season with a pair of 3-1 victories and clinched the Wesco 4A’s No. 2 berth to the district playoffs.

The Knights defeated Mount Vernon 25-15, 21-25, 25-16, 25-18 in the final regular season match on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Hannah Knutt recorded 14 kills and Jaclyn Janczakowski had 12 kills and 8 digs. Kamiak also beat Glacier Peak 25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19 on Monday, Oct. 23.

Kamiak was scheduled to host Jackson in a district match on Tuesday, Oct. 31, after the Beacon’s deadline. The winner will take on the winner of Lake Stevens/Glacier Peak in the district championship match at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 2, at Marysville-Pilchuck High School. The loser faces Mount Vernon in a loser-out game at 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov 2, at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

The top two finishers at the district tournament advance to the 4A state championships set for Friday and Saturday, Nov 10-11, at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.

Kamiak’s last appearance at state was in 2014.
