Kamiak beats Snohomish 5-2 | Boys prep tennis

Despite wet weather threatening to cancel boys tennis matches throughout the area, the Kamiak team was able to play on Monday, Sept. 30, beating Snohomish 5-2.

In the singles matches, Snohomish’s Andrew Ivelia beat Jimmy Hua 3-6, 6-1, 6-1, while Kamiak’s Garrett Peterson beat Jory Strickland 6-3, 6-3. Joseph Lee also won for the Knights, beating Kincaid Norris 6-2, 6-0, while Janson Garside beat Cary Marchant 6-2, 6-0.

In the doubles competition, Dominic Lee and Lan Kim beat Collin Gagnon and Colton Casto 6-0, 6-4, while Brian Moon and Daniel Chung beat JJ Doucette and Hunter Graver 5-7, 6-1, 7-5. Snohomish’s Adam Ivelia and Drake Wilson beat Oliver Collins and Ben Lee 6-1, 6-4 in the last match of the day.

Kamiak is now 7-1 in league matches and 8-1 overall this season. The Knights will play at Lake Stevens on Wednesday, Oct. 2 and will host Arlington on Monday, Oct. 7 in a 3:30 p.m. match.
