Top athletes: Boys – Fernando Castaneda-Flores (400, 800, 1,600), Romelo Mangum (sprints), Robel Anshebo (sprints, jumps), Randy Nguyen (sprints, jumps), Thanh Nguyen (sprints, jumps), Brandon Lopez (400, 800, 1,600); girls – Suzy Pace (hurdles, high jump), Valeria Gerasymova (sprint), Tiana Nguyen (800, 1,600, high jump), Kara Sevigny (800, 1,600, 3,200), Kyla Ojalehto (400, 800, 1,600)

Outlook: Suzy Pace qualified for state in 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and high jump. She finished fifth in the high jump and sixth in the 300 hurdles.

“We want to try to qualify as many athletes as possible to the state meet.  At this time, there are several who have the potential to do just that,” McFadden said. “We would like to improve on our fifth place girls and sixth place boys team finishes at last year’s league championships.”

Outlook: The boys team set two school records in the 400 and 1,600 relays and the 1,600 relay team finished second at the state meet.

Alicia Anderson is the school record holder in the 1,600 and 3,200 girls races. She finished second in the 1,600 and fifth in the 3,200 at last year’s state meet.

Teammate Tara Koonce holds the school shot put record.
