Kamiak slates PSAT for 10th, 11th graders | School brief

Oct 12, 2016

The PSAT will be given at Kamiak High School on Saturday, Oct. 15, in the main and auxiliary gyms.

The test for 10th and 11th graders measures readiness for college, offers access scholarships and serves as practice for the SAT.

It is a chance for high school juniors to enter themselves into a competitive scholarship competition called the National Merit, which awards thousands of dollars in university scholarships each year.

The test costs $21. Purchase tests before and after school or during lunch in the Bookkeeping Office. Test sales open up to other schools beginning Oct. 13, so sign up before it’s too late. Seating is limited.

Testing will begin at 7:45 a.m. and end around 11:30 a.m.

Students will need to bring their test receipt to the Career & College Readiness Center to register and receive a practice booklet.

Electronic scores will become available in mid-December on each students’ College Board account. Paper scores will be made available in late January.
