Kamiak’s Kwak, Mariner’s Caparas finish strong at 4A state championships | Golf

Kamiak’s Alvin Kwak finished in a tie for fifth place at the 4A state boys golf championships.

Kwak shot a second-day score of 72 to finish with an even-par 144 Wednesday, May 23, at the Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick.

Teammates Devin Kim tied for 18th place with a score of 142 and Alex Kim finished 36th with a 157. The Knights took fourth place in the team competition.

Mariner’s Jazzelle Caparas tied for seventh in the girls tournament Wednesday, May 23, at the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. Caparas shot a second-day score of 75 after opening with a 71.

Kamiak’s Annette Vo tied for 18th with a 154 and Jane Kim tied for 36th with a 163. Teammate Regina Park was 39th with 167. The Knights finished sixth overall.
