Kamiak's Cory West has resigned from his position as boys basketball coach.

West has been head coach for the last 10 years and previously was an assistant for seven years.

In his letter of resignation, West wrote "Since the birth of my son (2014), I have contemplated resignation and eventually came to the final decision that this would be my last season as the Head Coach.  With a lot of thought and contemplation; I realized that I want more time with my family."

Kamiak has qualified for the district tournament the past eight years and advanced to the state regional tournament in 2016, 2017 and capped the 2018 season with a top eight finish at the state tournament in the Tacoma Dome.

See next's week's Mukilteo Beacon for a story on West.
