At this year’s Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival, join your friends and neighbors while you enjoy a salmon dinner courtesy of The Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo. Kiwanis will be once again holding its annual Salmon Bake at this year’s festival.

By purchasing a salmon dinner you will be helping to fund multiple scholarships for Mukilteo high school students.

Look for the “big yellow and blue Kiwanis tent” with salmon being cooked on the wood-fired BBQ. Members of the local Kiwanis Club will be doing the serving and cooking for the group’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

The Mukilteo Kiwanis Club awards a record number of scholarships given out to seniors at Kamiak, Mariner, Sno-Isle Tech/Skills Center, and ACES High School each year.

In 2017, the club awarded a record $21,000 in scholarships. In 2018, it funded $20,000 and in 2019, the amount was $11,000 to assist graduating senior students with financial aid. The money raised from its Salmon Bake is the club’s main source of revenue for these scholarships.

The salmon dinner includes alder-cooked wild salmon, choice of Caesar salad or coleslaw, corn on the cob, French bread, and your selection of a beverage.

Pam Taylor, Mukilteo Kiwanis’ salmon bake chairperson, will be on site each day from Friday to Sunday keeping the event running smoothly. There are a large number of club members working as servers and food preparers on this very big fundraising event.

Tim Taylor is in charge of procuring the salmon and preparing it according to his “family standards.” His experience goes back to the Taylor’s Landing restaurant, where Mukilteo’s Ivar’s is located today. Tim and the cooking crew have lots of salmon BBQ cooking experience from previous years.

There will also be high school students from the Kamiak and Mariner Key Clubs helping with the event on all three days.

You can purchase tickets in advance for $12 each. First responders and military meals are $13 at the salmon bake. The price for purchasing a meal is $15 at the event.

The presale $12 meal tickets can be purchased online at or from members of the Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo.
