Thanks to the generosity of the Mukilteo community, the Kamiak softball team was able to make donations to the Mukilteo Fire and Police Departments.

As part of their fundraising for field maintenance and a new scoreboard, the Knights’ players have been selling beef jerky. The community purchased and donated 78 individual packets, which the softball team delivered to the fire station and the police station for first responders to use.

The softball team also was present at the Kamiak baseball game on Friday, April 6. Softball players provided activities, such as face painting and the distribution of temporary tattoos, for children attending the game.

“It was a big deal to us to give back to the community that has supported us in so many ways,” Kamiak coach Ann Bradley said.

Bradley said that the team has raised enough money for the scoreboard but will continue fundraising for the electrical work associated with the installation of the scoreboard.

Kamiak’s next game is against defending district champion Jackson at 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, at Jackson High School.

The Knights (3-1 in the league 5-3 overall) are in third place in the Wesco 4A.
