Lakeside wins third annual Jake Long Memorial tournament | Baseball

Lakeside Recovery defeated Washington Rush 10-3 in the championship game at the third annual Jake Long Memorial baseball tournament Sunday, July 21, at Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood.

Arden Walcott hit a bases-clearing triple in the fourth inning as Lakeside pushed across five runs in the fourth inning to take a 7-1 lead. Tournament MVP Tyler Odegard pitched 3 1/3 innings scoreless innings with four strikeouts.

The tournament, organized by Five Tool Northwest, honored Kamiak High School graduate and former Northwest Bandit player Jake Long and featured seven 18 U teams – Lakeside Recovery, Northwest Bandits, Washington Rush, Cascade Crush, Seattle Tides, Chaffey Baseball and Crew Athletics. Games were played at Edmonds Community College and Mountlake Terrace High School.
