Letter: A return to ethical government

Oct 25, 2017

Pretty weak response from Mayor Gregerson, and who can blame her.  Allegedly violating the separation of powers is a concern for everyone.

As mayor, Jennifer Gregerson is the chief executive; whereas Council President Bob Champion, is responsible for the budget, meeting agenda items and city policy. Bob Champion is the deciding vote on matters of policy.

Mayor Gregerson has denied her romantic involvement with the Council President twice before, the last time was in last Wednesday's Everett Herald.

However, in the Beacon, she cleverly stated not having a relationship for the “length of my term” but her former husband’s letter which alerted the public of the alleged affair and potential collusion, stated the relationship was only “nearly the entire term.”

Mayor Gregerson is being very deceitful and hence not denying the affair or the conflict of interest.

The Mayor must remember that Peter Zieve is not her opponent; she is running against retired USAF Lt. Colonel and decorated pilot Dan Matthews.

Mukilteans will decide with their ballots if the Mayor and council president Bob Champion’s decision-making ability to impartially manage their money has been comprised because of their alleged relationship.

One questions how many other members of the council or staff knew of this alleged affair and the resulting conflict of interest?  Were they threatened not to come forward?  In the age of Harvey Weinstein, we cannot just turn a blind eye and allow those in power to rule with fear and intimidation...Mukilteo deserves better!

Mario;

Quit slinging mud at my friend Jennifer.  There is NO INDEPENDENT PROOF of an inappropriate relationship between Jennifer Gregerson and Bob Champion.  Danny Matthews and his rat pack are just trying to lob one last desperate mudslinging attack, playing folks like you like suckers to steal the Mayor's Chair, fire Marko Lilias and then do G*D knows what for the 1.460 remaining days.

How dare you sir compare a GREAT Mayor to Harvey Weinstein, who engaged in blatant sexual predator behavior as per https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/from-aggressive-overtures-to-sexual-assault-harvey-weinsteins-accusers-tell-their-stories .  I'll leave the gory details to the New Yorker, this IS a community newspaper of record for Mukilteo and Paine Field.

Yours;

Joe

P.S. I'm sticking up for my friend.  If that's a crime, go burn in your own Hell.

I am sticking up for Mukilteo.....and either Champion, a Boeing-ite, speaking in the voice of Boeing, or Gregerson, the mayor, one of them should step away from this election if they want to continue their relationship.  Gregerson has a degree in Urban planning, yet the City of Mukilteo Building dept. is clueless?  Go to the city, ask for records on a property, as I did.  They don't have records prior to the annexation, nor do the research.  I went to Snohomish county, the research the archives...I was told, "Mukilteo purchased these on Microfiche".  Went to the Mukilteo building dept. and was told, "we don't have these on microfiche.  The City of Mukilteo Building dept. has primarily been working blindly, with only records since the annexation.  Propbaly explains why the NGPA area that was build next to me, trees coming down, and I phoned the building dept and was told "we have no record on NGPA in your area"....no record, because they didn't research!!!  It's caused a huge problem at my residence and surrounding residences.  If Gregerson has a degree in Urban Planning, why isn't she aware that a property just across from the City building is a prior military dump, and the other, undeveloped lots, are military toxic dumps, vents coming out of the property that is for sale?  I had to contact the Washington State Dept. of Ecology to get a case number and claim against these properties being built on, that are not only suspected toxic dumps, from the military and Boeing, second hand, but class 3 and 4 wetlands.  Wake up Mukilteo!!!  Unbuildable property passed hands and was unbuildable for a reason.  Building on these properties can cause vapor intrusion, and can cause liver and brain cancer from TCE/TCA vapor intrusion.  Not only that, but disturbing these wetlands, disturb our water resources.

Lynn;

As to, "I am sticking up for Mukilteo.....and either Champion, a Boeing-ite, speaking in the voice of Boeing, or Gregerson, the mayor, one of them should step away from this election if they want to continue their relationship."

What proof is there of this but the word of the Mayor's ex-husband who I infer from what I hear was the main source of problems in the tragically ended marriage?

THAT SAID, you should have kept the focus on the environmental issues.  Which are real.

Gregerson did not deny the relationship.  Why don't you just ask her?  I am keeping my focus on the environmental issues....and Gregerson doesn't seem to have a clue.  Have you looked at that property for sale next to the City hall?  It's a dump site...former military.  There used to be vents coming out of it, and signs, stating "gas" that were removed once it went up for sale.  I have a background in real estate law, development, commercial and residential sales.  I have researched the stated properties, former military, then Boeing, toxic dumps.  Mabey you should go down to the courthouse and research them.  But then again, doesn't take research at the courthouse, when the evidence is there, that it's an unpermitted landfill...

The properties across the way, the few last lots for sale and lease, for good reason, are unlined chemical dumps, you can see the concrete blocks where the truck used to drive iin to dump and the big circuclar areas.....and class 3 and 4 wetlands....perhaps you should contact Lenny Siegel, CPEO....the expert on this.  He would agree with me.

Where are the texts?

"Gregerson did not deny the relationship.  Why don't you just ask her?"

Lynn, drop this.  There's no proof except a jilted ex-husband.

I do think it's concerning next to the City's major supermarket I visit at least once a month is a "dump site".  Keep focused on that.

Joe, a real environmentalist

Mukilteo is ready for a change...Elect Dan Mathews as Mukilteo Mayor, a retired USAF Lt. Colonel and decorated pilot with decades of experience in inspiring, goal setting, accomplishments, and wisdom of the "shared destiny" concept.  Mukilteo Proud!

I don't think there's anything to be proud about when one attacks their opponent on hearsay or solely the word of a jilted ex... and if this is how he's going to behave in office, prepare for the harassment lawsuits & large settlements - especially in this #MeToo world pal.  Guess who'll be paying?  Mukilteo taxpayers and sales tax payers.

It's sad this campaign has gone to the gutter.  You and your hero Zieve and Zieve's pet Danny are mostly to blame.
