Letter: Campaign signs a 5-month blight on town

Oct 04, 2017

The length of time campaign signs can be visually polluting our pretty little town is ridiculous. From before the primary to after the November final election amounts to about five months. Why so long?

And I still see signs of candidates who lost in August. Is there no enforcement? How about a limit on the number of signs any one candidate can put up or the distance between those signs? Or does it depend on the amount of money a candidate has to spend?

Lastly, one candidate boasts that being married, having children and having employees gives him the advantage over his opponent. Really?! Is this meant to say a single person who does not own a business can’t make educated, thoughtful decisions? Pretty silly.
