Lynnwood beats Mariner | Boys prep basketball

The Mariner boys basketball team lost it's first game of 2014 on Saturday, Jan. 4. The team lost 58-49 to Lynnwood.

Lynnwood led 20-9 after one quarter, and outscored the Marauders 14-13 in the second to lead 34-22 at halftime.

Mariner closed the gap in the third quarter, scoring 15 points to Lynnwood's nine, but Lynnwood retook control in the fourth, adding 15 points to the Marauder's 12 to win the match.

DeRhaun Mallett scored 13 points during the game, while Andre Haghgoo added 11 points. Kevin Villalobos scored seven points, Shawn Miguel added four and Erwin Dzeko and Ryan Mendoza each scored two points.

The Marauders, now 1-3 in league and 2-7 overall this season, will play at Monroe on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7:15 p.m.
