Marine is the man for the job | Letter

Oct 23, 2013

Editor, The Beacon:

I have known Joe Marine since just before my return to the Mukilteo City Council in 1999.

In that time, Joe has demonstrated that he has the skills and ability to gain consensus with councilmembers, manage city affairs, and to listen to the citizens of our city.

Joe is a get-it-done kind of person, both at City Hall and for the brief time he was in the state legislature.

He almost singlehandedly guided the legislative process of transferring the state park to the city, creating what is now Lighthouse Park. He continues to work tirelessly to maintain Paine Field as a general aviation airport.

He builds liaisons with other cities and government agencies so that Mukilteo is represented at all levels of government. He fosters cooperation with, and within, the council to keep the city moving ahead.

He has also exhibited his leadership in other areas, too numerous to mention here.

I endorse Joe as eminently qualified to be mayor, and as the best candidate for the position. It is in our own best interest, and the interest of the city of Mukilteo, to return Joe Marine to the mayor’s office.

Vote for Marine!

Ken Kromann,

Former Mukilteo Councilmember

I disagree. Joe seems more into promoting himself while using Mukilteo and accomplishments of others as a backdrop and promotion of himself. Most of all, he is totally out of touch with environmental issues, hazards and concerns.
