Mariner beats Cascade 3-2 in overtime | Boys prep soccer

The Mariner boys soccer team earned it’s first league win of the season on Tuesday, March 18, rallying to beat Cascade in overtime.

The final score was 3-2 for the Marauders.

Mariner led 2-0 early in the game, with Orlando Guzman scoring the first goal of the season for the Marauders in the 10th minute, followed by a goal from teammate Edgar Navarro in the 25th minute.

Despite the early deficit, Cascade bounced back, scoring two goals in the second half in the 65th minute and the second in the 79th minute.

Navarro scored the game-winning goal for the Marauders in the 84th minute off a free kick, earning Mariner the win.

Mariner assists went to Geovanni Ramirez and Diego Casillas.

The Marauders, now 1-0 this season, will take on Jackson on Friday, March 21 at Everett Memorial Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
