Mariner, Kamiak earn awards at All-State Cheer competition

Kamiak and Mariner had strong performances at the Washington State Cheerleading Coaches Association’s All-State Cheer competition Saturday, March 23 at Kamiak High School.

The Knights and Marauders earned a combined 14 first-, second- and third-place finishes and had seven members named to the All-State Cheer team. Fifty cheer squads from across the state attended the event.

 

Mariner placers were:

• Victor Mariscal-Cruz – first in co-ed stunt division; first in band dance; third in cheer; All-State team member.

• Ja’Syrie Darby – first in hip hop; first in individuals overall (non-tumbling); All-State team member

• Melanie Vue – First in co-ed stunt division; All-State team member

• Reggie Bright – first in co-ed stunt division; All-State team member.

• Jahee Nelson – first in co-ed stunt division; All-State team member.

 

Kamiak placers were:

• Baohan Vo – first in band dance (non-tumbling); All-State team member

• Alexia Bravo – second in beginning stunt

• Kaitlin Harrison – second in beginning stunt

• Danielle Manahan – second in beginning stunt

• Siobhan Mukomela – second in beginning stunt

• Kyler Lien – third in cheer (non-tumbling); All-State Team member
