Mark storm drains on Day of Caring

Sep 13, 2017

With the United Way of Snohomish County’s annual Day of Caring coming up on Friday, Sept. 15, the city of Mukilteo has partnered with WSU Beach Watchers to reduce stormwater pollution in the city.

Join the Beach Watchers from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at City Hall to mark street curbs with steel medallions that read “No Dumping. Drains to Sound” by as many storm drains as possible.

There are 4,500 storm drains in the city that send dirty storm runoff – from our roads, parking lots and yards – directly into Puget Sound without treatment.

Since this work requires dry weather, volunteers will head to Edgewater Beach to do beach cleanup in case of rain.
