Mukilteo Historical Society January meeting

Jan 10, 2018

The Mukilteo Historical society will be having it’s January general membership meeting on Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Rosehill Community Center’s Vancouver Room.

The speaker at the January meeting is Chuck Fowler.

Fowler is a recipient of the Robert Gray Medal, which is the highest award given by the Washington State Historical Society.

The medal recognizes long-term contributions to Pacific Northwest history areas such as teaching, writing, research, historic preservation and service to local historical societies.

Fowler will be speaking about his book, "Tall Ships on Puget Sound."

The book tells the history of the ships that came to the Pacific Northwest starting in the 1700s. The ships brought explorers, settlers and entrepreneurs to the region.

The book has almost 200 rare photos and drawings that chronicle the history of tall ships in Puget Sound.

The Mukilteo Historical Society welcomes all members of the community to attend the meeting.
