Mukilteo Historical Society March meeting

Mar 07, 2018

Christina Mychajliw of the Mukilteo Community Garden will be the featured speaker this Thursday night at the general meeting for the Mukilteo Historical Society.

She will be providing information for anyone interested in supporting the garden.

The Mukilteo Community Garden volunteers provide fresh produce to local food banks (more than 1,500 pounds donated in 2017) and support 50 families with space and knowledge to grow their own healthy food.

Started by a handful of volunteers in 2009, the group offers volunteer and educational opportunities for everyone interested in making a difference in our community through gardening.

Come learn how the garden got started, the growth over the years and plans for the future. Mychajliw discovered the Garden during her lunchtime walks in 2011, rented a garden bed in 2012, and joined the board in 2013 because she fell in love with the mission, the people, and the produce she grew there.

The Mukilteo Historical Society meets every second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Fowler Room at the Rosehill Community Center.
