Mukilteo softball players help team to second place finish at tournament | Sports brief

Two Mukilteo softball players recently helped their select team to a second place at a season opening tournament in early April.

Emma Rosendal and Lindsey Greenfield are members of the 12U NW Lady Sharks fastpitch team. The Sharks competed in the NSA Spring Opener tournament April 5-6 in Everett.

The team started the tournament going undefeated in the gold bracket. The team finished in second place overall, going 4-1 during the competition.

The team also traveled to Salem, Ore. Where they played against 11 Oregon teams in the ASA Salem Spring Invitational.

The Sharks won four games in a row on Sunday to finish in first place in the consolation bracket, earning a 5-2 record. That finish earend the team a ASA Power Score of 115, the third highest in Washington and second highest for teams based in Washington.

The team will compete in ASA, NSA and USSSA tournament throughout Washington and Oregon this season.

The team includes Angelina Barokas, Emma Rosendal, Erin Powers, Kailey Mohamed, Lindsey Greenfield, Morgan Olynyk, Natalie Wilson, Noa Ferman, Ryann Davis, Sierra Hein and Sophie Feise. The Lady Sharks 12U team is coached by Ken Jones and Steve Olynyk.

The NW Lady Sharks are based in Bothell and has players and coaches from Bellevue, Bothell, Issaquah, Kenmore, Mukilteo, Mercer Island, Redmond, Sammamish, Seattle and Woodinville.
