Snohomish county resident, past president and former board member Jeff Van Dyck was appointed last week to head the Institute of Flight (IoF) that runs the day-to-day operations, management and ticketing at the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour.

The announcement comes as former executive director Bonnie Hilory steps down after more than three years at the helm.

Van Dyck comes to the Institute of Flight after 20 years at Boeing, where he served as their first creative director of Creative Services of the Shared Services Group, overseeing design, architecture and brand building.

He is a graduate of Southern Oregon University and the Art Center College in Pasadena, CA.

As a long-time member of the Snohomish county community, he has lived in Edmonds for nearly 40 years.

Van Dyck was a Boeing creative director responsible for immersive branded-experience design and has had a longtime relationship with the Future of Flight Foundation, serving as Exhibits Committee chair, as past president plus as a Boeing loaned executive.

“We are pleased to announce that Jeff will lead our top-flight team of professionals at this world-class facility,” Dr. Nicholas Patrick, IoF board of director’s president, said. “He has the clear understanding of our place in the community and the region in addition to providing shared leadership to the Boeing Tour operations and direction to our well-respected education programs.”
