Dr. Nhi Pham of the Mukilteo Dental Center was named 2018's Mukilteo Citizen of the Year on Wednesday, June 27.

Pham was surprised by her staff, family, and past Citizens of the Year at her office and was awarded a plaque by 2004 Citizen of the Year Tim Taylor.

Pham will take part in the Lighthouse Festival parade in September, will have a reception in her honor at Harbour Pointe Retirement Center, and will have her name engraved on the plaque at the Rosehill Community Center along with past recipients.

Pham migrated with her family from Vietnam when she was just 2 years old and spends a lot of her time volunteering, whether that's locally or globally. Pham recently returned from volunteering in the East African country of Tanzania.
