Don’t expect to park at Lighthouse Park for this year’s Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival.

There will be no parking available at the park during the three-day festival from Friday, Sept. 8, through Sunday, Sept. 10.

More parking than ever before will be available this year for the festival, with shuttle buses to get to and from the park. While parking is free, a donation of $1 per person for the shuttle is encouraged. Children age 5 and under ride free.

“In the last few years, the cost of providing these shuttles has pretty much tripled,” festival Executive Director Marilyn Langdon said. “We don’t charge an entry fee or a parking fee for the festival, so we’re looking at donations to help offset our rising costs. We don’t want to set a fee for admission to the festival because we want people to come out. We want everyone to be able to come out and have fun.”

Find festival parking at Olympic View Middle School (2602 Mukilteo Speedway), Kamiak High School (10801 Harbour Pointe Blvd.) and at Travis Industries in Harbour Pointe (12521 Harbour Reach Dr.).

Handicapped parking and a shuttle with a wheelchair lift also will be available at Olympic View.

Organizers recommend carpooling or walking to the one of the shuttle pick-up locations to cut down on vehicle traffic.

Buses will run from 3:30 p.m. to midnight Friday, 10:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at all locations. Busses to the Kamiak lot won’t run Saturday until after the parade.

Each person will receive a wristband to remind them which bus to ride back.

After the fireworks on Friday and Saturday, however, it doesn’t matter which bus you catch. All shuttles will loop from Kamiak to Travis Industries to Olympic View. The bus with the wheelchair lift is the exception.

Don’t want to drive? Catch a Community Transit bus to the Lighthouse Festival. All three Mukilteo bus routes – 113, 417 and 880 – serve stops near Lighthouse Park.

Local bus fare is $2.25 for adults (19-64) and $1.50 for youth (6-18). Seniors and disabled ride for a discount with a permit.
