Quilters’ Make ‘N’ Take event a success | Letter

May 07, 2014

Editor, The Beacon:

What a successful day! About 29 happy budding seamstresses came through the door of the Mukilteo Library Community Room on May 3 during the three-hour period and there were at least 20 pot holders were "Made & Taken."

In addition to the hands-on sewing experience, 13 quilt guild members shared fabric cutting, pressing and free-motion quilting techniques and displayed quilts on every wall.

To quote member Diane Cooper, “I loved seeing the spark of interest grow as our guests created a pretty and useful item.”

The sewing lessons each lasted about 30 minutes and all sewers finished the project with a rousing cheer: “TA-DA!”

The Mukilteo Lighthouse Quilters hope to see many new faces join in at their regular meetings at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Rosehill Community Center.
