Rotary Club honors Mukilteo high school students

The South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club has named a multitude of Mukilteo School District students as Students of the Month for March and April.

ACES High School's Tristan Ishmael is a Student of the Month for March, and Connor MacPherson as its Student of the Month for April.

Kamiak High School's Elli Straume is a Student of the Month for April 2019, and Mariner High School’s John Atoigue and Denil Sabu are Students of the Month for March and April, respectively.

They were recognized for their accomplishments at recent Rotary Club meetings at Shawn O’Donnell’s Restaurant & Irish Pub in Everett.

Ishmael was accompanied by his parents, Charlotte and Lynn, MacPherson was accompanied by his mom, Linda, Straume was joined by her parents Liza and Arvid, Atoigue was accompanied by his parents, Julita and Timothy, and Sabu was accompanied by his sister, Delsey.

Ishmael is a former rugby player and hopes to attend college.

MacPherson is a car enthusiast and is currently enrolled in the Heavy-Duty Diesel program at Sno-Isle Skills Center. He plans on entering the field of mechanics after high school.

MacPherson is a past volunteer with the Boys & Girls Club at Olivia Park Elementary where he helped with homework.

Maintaining a 3.8 GPA, Straume is the captain of the swim team and was voted most inspirational.

Straume plans to attend college after high school to study engineering.

As a member of Honor Society, Atoigue volunteers many hours at elementary schools.

Atoigue plans to attend Everett Community Collete in the Aviation Maintenance program and then pursue a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance Management at Central Washington University.

Atoigue is described as selfless, hardworking and ambitious.

Sabu, a 4.0 student is a member honored as a Mariner student of the quarter and ranked #1 his junior year. He loves to read and is favorite genres are fantasy and science fiction.

Sabu has plans to attend college after graduation and pursue a degree in business.
