Kick off the holiday season with the Schack Art Center at the opening reception of the 2018 Holiday Art Exhibit featuring the Northwest Pastel Society (NPS) on Thursday, Nov. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m.

More than 30 signature members of the NPS will be displaying 80 original pastels that showcase a variety of styles and subjects.

Local member Laurie Povey Crawford said she is thrilled to share her work, which has ties to Everett history. Her three pieces in the exhibit were inspired by stained glass windows at the First Presbyterian Church of Everett created by her great grandfather, one of the Povey Brothers, more than 125 years ago.

In addition to the NPS Signature Members' work, the Schack will also have glass, ceramic, jewelry, and wood gifts for holiday shoppers. Exhibit visitors will receive 10 percent off any art purchases when they visit Schack on Thursdays in December.

The 2018 Holiday Art Exhibit is on display at the Schack Art Center, 2921 Hoyt Ave, Everett, from Nov. 15 through Dec. 29. Participating artists and additional information is available at schack.org/exhibits.
