Schools foundation offering scholarships

The Mukilteo Schools Foundation is offering scholarships to graduating seniors from Mukilteo schools who will be enrolled in post-secondary education next year. The application forms are available at each high school and on the Foundation’s website at www.mukilteoschoolsfoundation.org. To complete the application, students should be prepared to write briefly about their commitment to goals and tasks, their commitment to community service, their experience with diversity, any leadership and group collaboration, and their adaptability to change. The foundation is particularly interested in offering scholarships to students who may not be getting others, so be sure to apply. The scholarship applications are due on Friday, April 26.

Mukilteo Way Garden Club scholarship

A $1,000 Horticulture Scholarship is being offered by the Mukilteo Way Garden Club to graduating high school seniors, college students and those working in or interested in working in the horticulture, landscaping, environmental or related fields. Applicants must use the funds for classes, books and fees in those fields of study during the 2019-2020 school year at an accredited Washington college, university or trade school.

Mukilteo Education Association offering scholarships

The Mukilteo Education Association (MEA) is offering four $1,000 scholarships to qualified students from ACES, Mariner, or Kamiak High Schools. All scholarships require the completion of any applicable 2019 MEA Scholarship Application form(s). Forms and appropriate supporting documentation are to be submitted directly to the MEA office, c/o Scholarship Committee by Wednesday, May 1. F

orms can be obtained from the high school counseling offices, and are also available on the Mukilteo Education Association’s website ­­– mukilteoea.org

The Brad Agerup Memorial Scholarship is available to a graduating senior from Mariner High School. The student must be enrolling in a program to further their education in an accredited technical school, or a two- or four-year college or university.

The Michelle Reichenbach Memorial Scholarship is available to a graduating senior with a family member employed by the Mukilteo School District. The student must be enrolling in an accredited technical school, or a two- or four-year college or university.

The Lois Jamieson Memorial Scholarship is open to students entering any accredited four-year college or university. Preference will be given to applicants intending to pursue a career as an educator.

The Joanne Brennan Memorial Scholarship is offered to a senior enrolling in any accredited two- or four-year college or university. Preference will be given to students identified as “high risk” as determined by the scholarship committee and/or faculty.
