Mariner Life Skills students dance the night away

Students in the Life Skills program at Mariner had a great time dancing and celebrating their first-ever high school prom a week ago last Friday.

The event featured all the trappings of the standard prom, with the added luster of a television camera and news reporter, who were there to tell the story for KING-TV viewers later that evening.

Mukilteo students whip up edible creations

Mixing, slicing, baking and eating, that’s what took place during the Future Chef competition, which was held last Friday at Mariner.

Future Chef, formerly known as Kids Can Cook, is an annual culinary competition presented by Sodexo food services and Nutrition Services. The event gives 3rd through 5th grade students the opportunity to prepare and present their favorite snack-type recipe, learn about healthy eating and food safety, win prizes, and compete for Top Junior Chef.
