A NEW SCHOOL DISTRICT WEBSITE IS ON THE WAY

Changes are coming to the school district’s website.

The migration of the current website to a new web platform will be completed with the debut of the new website in mid to late February.

The change became necessary when the school district learned that its current web platform will no longer be supported after the end of 2018.

The new platform is called Web Community Manager. The process of transferring to the new platform has so far involved selecting a template for the new site, cleaning up the current site and developing the navigational structure of the new site.

Advice on selecting the template was solicited from a group of parents who looked at various options and indicated their favorites.

Once the migration to the new platform is complete, it will be integrated with the school district’s parent notification system, called Blackboard Connect, and eventually with a mobile app commonly known as Parent Link.

THREE MARINER BAND STUDENTS RECEIVE TOP HONORS

Congratulations to Mariner band students George Angelos who plays percussion, Brayden Swope who plays the tuba and Sarah Khan who plays the flute, on receiving top honors by the Washington Music Educators Association for being outstanding high school musicians.

Each student was selected to participate and perform with prestigious 2018 WMEA All-State performing groups in Yakima this February, under the direction of world-renowned conductors.
