The school district’s bus shop received the 2016-17 Outstanding School Bus Inspection award from the Washington State Patrol.

To receive the award, the school district met the threshold of having 10 percent or less of its fleet of school buses with mechanical or other issues that would place them out of service.

The bus shop came in at only 1 percent and this marks more than 30 consecutive years of receiving the award.

The Washington State Patrol inspects school buses twice a year. An unscheduled inspection of 25 percent of the buses takes place in the winter and all of the buses in the fleet are inspected in the spring.
