Mukilteo School District conducting parent survey

Mukilteo School District parents are invited each year to take part in a short survey about their child’s school. The survey asks parents a series of questions, such as whether they feel welcome at the school, if their child feels safe at school, and if they have a positive impression about the quality of education.

The results will be used by schools in developing School Improvement Plans and will help schools and the school district improve communications with parents.

The parent survey can be found at.surveymonkey.com/r/7ZMBS22.

Cascade Symphony offering scholarships to high school music students

Scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $3,000 will be awarded by the Cascade Symphony Orchestra to qualified high school seniors from the Mukilteo, Edmonds, Northshore and Shoreline school districts.

Application materials should be mailed to: Holly Sullivan, 4403 130th Place SW, Mukilteo, WA 98275. All entries must be postmarked by Monday, April 12.

An audition CD, containing up to five minutes of a candidate’s finest playing (on string, woodwind, brass or percussion instrument), without accompaniment, must be sent with each application.

The application form, along with further information, is available via the symphony’s website at cascadesymphony.org/education/scholarships/.

Candidates will be notified in late April, with the winners being presented on stage during the Cascade Symphony Orchestra’s “Mozart and Mahler” concert the evening of Monday, May 6, at the Edmonds Center for the Arts.

“We have been awarding scholarships to high school seniors for many years, because supporting education is a high priority for the orchestra,” said Sullivan, who is scholarship chair for the Cascade Symphony Orchestra.
