Editor, The Beacon:

Next Monday, Nov. 11, the Mukilteo Schools Foundation is holding its 21st annual fundraising breakfast in the Kamiak High School Commons from 7:30-9 a.m.

Anyone who lives in the Mukilteo School District is invited and can buy a ticket at or just sign in at the door.  Tickets are $50 and all proceeds go to supporting enrichment programs that enhance the learning experience among students and teachers.

Last year's event raised $50,000 and the money provided funds for college scholarships and grants to 35 teachers in virtually every school in the district.

This year's event features Rick Rizzs, long time Mariners announcer as emcee.  The keynote speaker is Jim Lynch, author of several Northwest-based novels, including the current national bestseller “Truth Like the Sun.”

The event is fun, and the best part is that the money supports innovation and creativity within our wonderful school district.
