Shorewood beats Mariner | Prep softball

The Mariner softball team started the spring season with a non-league loss to Shorewood on Tuesday, March 18.

The final score was 16-6 for the Thunderbirds in five innings.

Shorewood led 5-0 after one inning, and added three runs in the second, while Mariner scored one run in the top of the second.

Shorewood scored six more times in the third inning, and two in the bottom of the fifth, while the Marauders added five runs in the top of the fifth inning.

The Marauders had six runs off one hit and on error during the game, while Shorewood scored 16 runs off 15 hits and two errors.

Mariner, now 0-1 this season, will host Shorecrest on Thursday, March 20 at 4 p.m.
