Students from Mukilteo succeeding in college

Several college students who hail from Mukilteo have made their dean’s lists, while others have graduated or received scholarships.

Donnie Belk, Amelia Kraft and Chandler Wesson made the spring dean’s list at Eastern Washington University, while Timothy Beard, Simon Forster and Victoria Sonnenburg made the spring dean’s list at Azusa Pacific University in California. Ryan Vogt made the spring dean’s list at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

Ryan Doner graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in May with a bachelor of science in accounting.



Jaimee-Lynn Evangelista Alonso, a 2012 Kamiak High School graduate, has received the $8,865 Inspired for Teaching Excellence Scholarship for her 2017-18 academic year at Western Washington University.

The scholarship is awarded to entering freshman from Washington who possess a passion for making a difference through teaching in P-12 schools.

Alonso is currently an undergraduate student majoring in early childhood education with a K-8 endorsement and minoring in education and social justice. She is a member of the National Honor Society of Collegiate Scholars and teaches at KIDSTAGE in Everett. Her goal is to become a first grade teacher in the Mukilteo School District.
