Suspect arrested after assault

On October 10, 2017 at approximately 5:30 A.M., Mukilteo Police officers responded to the 12300 block of Harbour Pointe Boulevard for a report of an injured male at the location. The subject left the location prior to police arrival and was again discovered at the 5700 block of South Grove Drive. Officers contacted the subject and it was revealed to them that the subject had sustained a single stab wound during an apparent altercation with another subject.

The victim, a 34-year-old male from Granite Falls, was transported to an Everett hospital by Aid crews where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Mukilteo Detectives were able to quickly identify a suspect in connection with the assault.  Mukilteo officers responded to the suspect’s place of employment in the City of Everett where a 48-year-old male from Mukilteo was arrested and transported to the Mukilteo Police Station for questioning. He was then transported to the Snohomish County Jail where he was booked for investigation of Assault in the Second Degree.

Police Chief Cheol Kang said, “I appreciate the rapid response and professional handling of this incident by members of the Mukilteo Police Department and our regional law enforcement partners. Their commitment and dedication to duty resulted in essential emergency aid being provided to the victim and a suspect being quickly apprehended.”

The combined efforts of the Mukilteo Police Department, Mukilteo Fire Department, Snohomish County Sheriff’s K-9, and Everett Police Department’s K-9, proved to be invaluable in assisting the Mukilteo Police Department to quickly investigate this incident and arrest the suspect.
