The totem at the beach l Travel Sketcher

By Terry Christopherson | Jul 19, 2018

In 2010, James Madison, a third-generation artist and sculptor from the Tulalip Tribe, found this huge driftwood log floating in Port Gardner Bay, a little north of the city of Everett.

The large face carved in the driftwood is that of Mother Earth, an image from Tulalip tribal legends about the seasons and life.

It stands today as a stunning icon of Lighthouse Park in Mukilteo.

Terry - the Travelsketcher is a Mukilteo resident who sketches anything interesting that catches his eye. To see more of Terry’s sketches, visit www.peninkandpaint.com or follow him on Instagram at “thetravelsketcher.”
