Washington’s newest ferry entered service on the Mukilteo-Clinton route on June 30, but crews soon realized the Tokitae has a design flaw: Long or low vehicles bottom out and scrape on the ramps of the vessel. Crews have had to adjust their loading procedure for some vehicles to avoid the problem. Above, the Tokitae is seen crossing paths with the Cathlamet on its way to the Mukilteo terminal.
