Dec 13, 2013

The concert will feature more than 80 student-musicians, including members of Concert Choir, the Mead High School Women’s Choir and the Mead Jazz Choir, as well as student instrumentalists and narrators.

It will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196th St. S.W. in Lynnwood.

“I would encourage all who have yet to attend a Mead High School Christmas Festival Concert to come and experience this year’s concert and discover why, for many in our community, their holiday celebrations begin with this annual event,” said Mike Saccomanno, director of choral activities at Mead High School and artistic director of the Christmas Festival concert series.

The concert theme, “All That Was Promised,” will be elevated through choral works and readings from various sources.

Presented without interruption, the concert will include the annual candlelight carol.

Musical selections will include Marc A. Hafso’s “Gloria” and “Sanctus” from his Missa Pacem for mixed chorus; Daniel Kantor’s “Come to Us, Home to Us” for women’s chorus; Mary Chapin Carpenter’s “Thanksgiving Song”; Z. Randall Stroope’s “All My Heart This Night Rejoices”; and works by Cary Ratcliff, K. Lee Scott, Herold Owen, Dan Bukvich, John Rutter and Quincy Jones.

Abigail Hohenstreet will serve as accompanist. Joe Brasch will serve as guitarist.
