The annual Work Force Development Center Charity Golf Tournament will be held Friday, Aug. 15, at Legion Memorial Golf Course in Everett.

The event, which benefits the WFDC, is a four-man scramble with a shotgun start. It starts at 9:30 a.m. with sign in from 8-9:15 a.m.

The event will be followed by award and a dinner reception with live jazz.

The event features a $50,000 hole-in-one contest, prizes for the first, second, third and last place team, the longest drive contest, closest to the pin contest and a putting contest.

There will also be the Dixon Challenge and Dixon Aurelius Driver Challenge, both of which require separate entry fees.

Local celebrities will also take part in the event, including Mack Strong and Nesby Glasgow, former Seahawks players, as well as Slick Watts, a member of the Seattle SuperSonics in 1974-78.

The tournament is $125 per person if registered by July 31, or $150 after July 31. Registration includes greens fees, cart rental, buffet dinner, team prizes, refreshments and goodie bags.

The WFDC works to help disabled, at-risk and economically disadvantaged youth to finish high school and to become self-sufficient members of society.
