The 17 Mukilteo Police Youth Academy Students celebrated their graduation with a short ceremony at Mukilteo City Hall last Friday, July 13.

The 17 students were from Kamiak High School and spent the last week learning about various aspects of public safety.

The ceremony included the handing out of certificates with Mukilteo Mayor Jennifer Gregerson, and a slideshow presentation with photos from the week-long course.

Mukilteo Police Department Crime Prevention Officer Myron Travis led the Youth Academy, which included information on the dos and don’ts of teen dating, learning about safe driving, how to extinguish fires, and more.

“It’s great that they were able to be exposed to all these things because it’s better than being at home playing Xbox, right?” Travis said at the graduation.
